• 2 years for PVC entrance doors produced in the Salamander system

MAINTENANCE

The primary factor that influences the durability and quality of PVC windows is their correct maintenance.

Although windows made from PVC are among the most robust and resistant to atmospheric conditions, there are some guidelines which should be followed in order to provide proper functioning of the windows for as long as possible:

• protective membranes should be removed from profiles shortly after installation – when they remain on the profile, membranes get fragile, dry, and eventually crack, which may mean that their removal will be difficult, and could lead to damage of the surface
• dirt appearing during installation or other building works should be removed immediately and not allowed to dry, especially the remains of foam and mortar, which may damage the profile’s surface, panes and fittings
• gentle cleaning preparations which do not contain wiping agents and solvents should be used to clean the windows
• the moving parts of multi-point locking fittings and hinges should be lubricated correctly, at least once a year
• the gaskets should be greased with technical Vaseline
